Town Hall Deli (Deli - South Orange, New Jersey)

Sloppy Joes are a true Jersey (and especially deli) staple, but these are not the traditional Sloppy Joes everyone thinks or knows of. A Jersey Sloppy Joe is a stacked cold deli sandwich with turkey, ham, pastrami, corned beef, and roast beef with swiss, coleslaw, and Russian dressing piled high onto rye bread. Sounds great, right?!

This sandwich has been a hit for almost a century, and I went to the place where it all started to try one, Town Hall Deli in South Orange. Town Hall invented the Sloppy Joe in the 1930s, and I decided to go for my next review, and this place was awesome!

Of course, I got a true 'Sloppy Joe,' and it was delicious. I love Reubens, and this was pretty much a cold Reuben, as it had so many meats and was very saucy. This was a mouthful, to say the least, and I would eat this all the time! I also got the 'Macaroni Salad,' which was tasty. I think you all know how macaroni salad tastes, so I will not go into detail, lol. On top of that, I also got a 'Potato Knish,' and it was so good. It was my first time eating a knish, and it tasted like a pierogi to me. The outside of the knish was crispy and golden and had a harder coating with the potato filling on the inside. Insanely good!

Besides sloppy joes, you can also order sandwiches, paninis, wraps, salads, soups, sides, desserts, and more. Pickup and delivery are both offered here. However, you do not have to order Town Hall locally only because they also ship nationally through Goldbelly, so you can order Town Hall from anywhere no matter where you live. Catering is also available with more information and instructions on the website. There is a reason why this spot is raved tremendously by the press and so many people and Town Hall Deli is for sure a food spot everyone must try at some point in their lives!
