Rossi's & Sons (Deli - Poughkeepsie, New York)

I think it's pretty safe to say everyone can be biased towards having a "favorite" deli. I mean there are so many incredible and unbelievable sandwich places all over the country to choose from that are all unique and stand out in their own ways. However my for next review, I decided to bring you guys out of Long Island and up to the 845 this time to one of the best deli's in the state, Rossi's & Sons in Poughkeepsie, New York.

Going to college in the Hudson Valley area, I got pretty acquainted with Rossi's from some of my friends as a few live in the Poughkeepsie area and some have been up paid a visit there in the past. Now, I never had the chance to go to Rossi's while I was at school, but when I started doing my reviews I always knew Rossi's would be one of the places I'd hit up because I've only heard nothing but good things about this establishment, so I figured it was time to go and see what the hype is all about.

A cheese pull & vodka sauce?? You know what's good

After looking at the menu, I knew right away I was ordering the 'Chicken Vodka Parm' sub and that's exactly what I got. Now, I'm just gonna give a public service announcement for all of you right now...YOU NEED TO ORDER A CHICKEN VODKA PARM SUB FROM ROSSI'S IF YOU EVER GO!!! That is how amazing this sandwich is, I've never tasted anything so perfect before and I was actually getting excited while I was eating it (lol), so you know this is going to be a good place! In all honesty, everything was and tasted really fresh and freshly prepared from the bread to the meat to the cheese to the sauce (*chefs kiss*). You kind of just know when something tastes fresh and is made with love and I instantly got that love from eating this sandwich. Now moving on, I also ordered the 'Quattro Falso' which has eggplant, ricotta, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers and herb pesto sauce with a balsamic glaze. This sandwich was really good too and tasted delicious. The eggplant was very crispy (which I personally love) and the cheese, sauces and peppers were all fresh and complimented each other really well.

Just layers of goodness here

Rossi's has a number of paninis you can order and you get the choice of having yours being pressed or not if you want, I had my 'Quattro Falso' grilled and pressed and thought it made my sandwich that much better. You can also customize your own sandwiches as well and can choose whatever you want on them. On top of that, there are roasted sandwiches too from 'Meatball', 'Sausage & Peppers', 'Veal Parm', 'Eggplant Parm' and 'Chicken Parm'. There's also a variety of salads and pasta salads people can order and a bunch of pre-selected hot Italian dinners and sides for customers as well. Now I'm not sure if I mentioned this yet or not, but when you order a Rossi's sandwich you have the choice of getting either a seven-inch or a nine-inch sandwich and they are ginormous!! Rossi's does not come to play when it comes to their portion sizes because they give you plenty! I wasn't able to finish both sandwiches in one sitting and had to bring home some leftovers for later.

Rossi's is mostly a takeout place, however, they do have a few tables outside if you're lucky to snag one, but this place seems to usually be packed as there's always a line almost out the door! You can order for pickup or delivery either online, through the phone or in-person (well not delivery for in-person but you know what I mean). Plus, if you'd like, Rossi's also offers catering to the public for any event you'd like catered, they have their own menu and packages people can select from. I'll just leave it at this, you're missing out big time by not going to Rossi's if you haven't yet because you'll regret it. This place is AMAZING, you already what I'm going to say, go give it a try!
