The last time I was in the city, I was walking around the Rockefeller Center area and stumbled across Maman, which is a French bakery. I was in the mood for something sweet and decided to try this place out.
The minute I walked in, I was mesmerized by the aromas of fresh bread, chocolate, and all sweet stuff. Plus, all the desserts they had displayed at the front counter looked insanely good, and I immediately knew I couldn’t just get one thing, lol.
One of the desserts I ordered was the ‘Hazelnut Dulce de Leche Chocolate Croissant.’ This was amazing, the croissant was very light and flaky and had a hazelnut dulce de leche filling on the inside. Plus, it had chocolate chips with a caramel glaze and powdered sugar on top. Everything about this tasted like a dream from all the flavorings meshing perfectly well together.
The other dessert I got was the ‘Nutella Brownie.’ I think you all probably know how this tasted. This was phenomenal, it was very chocolatey, warm, and a little soft and gooey on the inside just like a brownie. However, you can taste the Nutella in there, and it hit the spot and made the brownie that much better. There were also chocolate chips and caramel on top and it was *chef’s kiss*. I also got myself an iced coffee with milk and sugar, and let’s be real, you can’t go wrong with a good iced coffee, especially on a hot, summer day.
Besides dessert and coffee, the menu selections at Maman include breakfast, soup, salad, sandwiches, and more. Now, Maman has a handful of locations across the city and a bunch of other spots in Brooklyn, Jersey City, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Canada (Montreal and Toronto). For those who are in a hurry and don't have the time to wait around for their orders, you have the option to order in advance so that way your stuff is ready. Hosting events and catering are two things Maman also provides for customers and are a great option to choose if your event includes bakery-like food. On top of that, there's a ton of merchandise that is found on their website that you can buy, if you'd like. Overall, Maman is a fantastic bakery, and I highly suggest going if you stumble across a location near you.
