Island Lake Diner (Diner - Ronkonkoma, New York)

Over the weekend, I had the opportunity to check out Island Lake Diner in Ronkonkoma, which was fantastic. This spot gives all the feels of a classic diner, but the food is something else. To say that the food is over-the-top, creative, or next-level, is an understatement!

When I went, I started off with their 'Pina Colada Sangria,' which was light, sweet, and refreshing. I loved the combination of these two drinks, and I thought it was genius. I would definitely order this again or in general.

The fusion everyone needs to try!

For my app, I got their 'Bourbon Style Pulled Pork Sliders,' which had pulled pork, crispy onion strings, and melted cheddar with bourbon sauce. The sliders were super delicious and were beyond meaty, to say the least. The bourbon sauce was tasty as well. However, I liked that these sliders were not messy, but I felt they could have used a bit more sauce. I am the condiment and sauce king, so I tend to like more than what is given, lol, but these were still great!

For my meal, I had the 'Buffalo Chicken Mac & Cheese,' which had pasta and buffalo stuffed with cream, cheddar, parmesan, and mozzarella baked in casserole style with breadcrumbs. This is my favorite type of mac and cheese and the best way to eat it, in my opinion. I also got mine with their massive bread bowls! Not only was this packed with flavor, but it was beyond filling, and you feel stuffed from eating this! The mac and cheese itself was truly fantastic.

Only thing to say about this is OMG!

By the end, I was too stuffed for dessert, but I got some 'Cheesecake,' for the road, and I am so glad that I did! 'Cheesecake' is one of my favorite desserts, as it is creamy, sweet, and oh so good. Plus, this had a raspberry drizzle sauce, which made it exquisite.

Cheesecake is truly one of the best desserts out there!
