Recently, Dave's Hot Chicken opened up their first New Jersey location near me in Wayne, and of course you know that means I went and did a review on this spot. In my opinion, chicken sandwiches are so underrated because they are so simple but yet amazingly delicious. From the breaded chicken, the tangy sauces, and the soft, warm bun.
The spices you can order at Dave's Hot Chicken are No Spice, Lite Mild, Mild, Medium, Hot, Extra Hot, and Reaper. When I went, I ordered the 'Dave's #2' meal, which comes with two chicken sliders with fries that also comes with kale slaw, pickles, and Dave's sauce on the sandwiches. I got one sandwich with medium spice and the second one with mild spice. Honestly, I was a little reluctant to try anything too spicy because I did not want my mouth to burst into flames which would have made my meal feel unenjoyable. However, Medium and Mild were not bad at all. I felt a little kick with Medium, but nothing that was too crazy. I think next time, I can step up a notch and order Hot and see how that goes. I will let you all know when I do for sure! Overall, the sliders were incredible from the breading, chicken, seasoning, bun, and sauces (lots and lots of them which I love)!
Dave's Hot Chicken has a relatively small menu, so the combo I had is similar to what I got, except some of them involve chicken tenders instead of sliders. Food can ordered to eat in person or to go. You can also see how well-known they are in the press, and they are well-received. If you want to try a Dave's Hot Chicken location, make sure you check out their Wayne spot or ones in the city or Brooklyn and taste the deliciousness for yourself!
