Barnyard & Carriage House (American - Totowa, New Jersey)

Nothing beats a wonderful restaurant, but what about a fantastic restaurant with excellent outdoor seating? It also has a venue spot, which is an extra advantage. The Barnyard & Carriage House in Totowa has all of that!

My family and I have visited this place a few times, and just recently I went back with my parents. I thought I’d share my experience in a review. We sat outside, which is always a great choice because of the beautiful landscaping, comfortable seating, and the bar. I wish I had taken a photo to show how nice the outdoor area looks.

Starting dinner off with a draft beer is always a good call

To start, I had a 'Stella Artois' draft, which was very refreshing and enjoyable. Usually, when I have beer, I feel super bloated, and I did not after this beer, which was great for me.

For starters, we ordered the 'Nacho Platter,' which included chili, cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, tomatoes, olives, onions, and jalapeños with sour cream and salsa. I think chili with nachos is always a winner and should be a must-have. Also, the melted cheese was great. The nachos were very tasty, and I would definitely recommend them when you visit.

The 'Drunken Chicken' will easily make you salivate

For my main course, I ordered the 'Drunken Chicken.' It came with penne pasta in vodka sauce, topped with melted mozzarella and breaded chicken. It tasted amazing and was baked just right. I have to admit, I really love baked pasta and casserole dishes.

Light, sweet, & tons of raspberry

I had to end my meal with dessert, and I had the 'Raspberry Lemon Cake,' which was honestly perfect for me after all the filling stuff I ate. This was light and not too much, but still pretty sweet.

Events and weddings are held here, and more information on all the event menus is on the restaurant's website. If you are looking for your next night out with outdoor seating and/or a spot that can host your next private event or special occasion...definitely consider Barnyard & Carriage House!
