Chand Palace (Indian - Parsippany, New Jersey)

A few weeks ago, my company ordered everyone (for those who were interested) a sampler of the menu from Chand Palace in Parsippany, New Jersey to celebrate Diwali. Chand Palace is an Indian restaurant that serves all vegetarian dishes, so meat and poultry is not a specialty here. I recently tried Indian food for the first time before trying out Chand Palace (check out my review on Ambo, if curious), so I had an expectation this time around. I will say that I was very impressed with the food from Chand Palace, and everything was very delicious, to say the least!

The sampler came with 'Daal Makhani and Malai Kofta,' 'Vegetable Fried Rice,' a 'Vegetable Samosa,' 'Butter Naan,' 'Gulab Jamun,' and 'Mango Lassi.' I will first start with the 'Daal Makhani,' which is lentils fried in butter with onions, garlic, ginger, and tomatoes. I thought the 'Daal Makhani' was very savory, and had a bit of a strong spice kick, which I did not mind as it made for great flavor. The 'Malai Kofta' is a homemade Indian cheese stuffed in vegetable balls in a mildly spiced creamy sauce. This was honestly my favorite thing I ate out of everything, as it was creamy, cheesy, and all-around delicious. Plus, I like the spiced creamy sauce it was in.

Now you all know what is in 'Vegetable Fried Rice' and 'Butter Naan,' and how they taste, so I will not get into detail about those items, lol. The 'Vegetable Samosa' was my second favorite thing I had, as it was crispy and very filling on the inside, but let's be real, I love any food with a crispy outer coating or shell, lol. The filling had potatoes and green peas and hit the spot.

The 'Gulab Junam' was very sweet and tasty dessert that looks like grapes. This pastry is made up of milk and honey in a thick syrup, and it is making me hungry just thinking about it, lol. The 'Mango Lassi' is a mango smoothie with yogurt in it, with a thick texture. I will admit, the texture is a little hard to get past, but once you do, the 'Mango Lassi' is worth it and refreshing.

Chand Palace has lots of entrees, salads, soups, breads, appetizers, desserts, and more. On top of that, this place also has tons of party trays for parties and events for those interested.
