Recently, I decided to try out some new authentic Mexican food near me and came across Taqueria Los Gueros and thought it was a good idea to give it a try. They have multiple locations all over New Jersey. However, I went to their joint in Fairfield, which was the closest and most convenient for me. You can also find a Taqueria Los Gueros in Bloomfield, East Rutherford, Englewood, Elizabeth, Newark, Passaic, Paterson, Perth Amboy, Saddle Brook, and Totowa. Plus, they have another location opening up in Kearny soon.
When I went, I got their 'Los Tacos,' which is four soft tortilla tacos that come with onions and cilantro and your choice of either Al pastor, carnitas, or chicken. I got mine with carnitas, and these were probably the best tacos I've ever had! Everything was cooked to perfection. Secret hack if you get these tacos or any of the other ones...squeeze some of the lime that it comes with on there as well as some of the green chili sauce. It's delectable (chef's kiss).
I also got their 'Nachos,' which comes with mozzarella cheese, beans, guacamole, sour cream, diced tomatoes, and onions, as well as any meat of your choice. I got mine with chicken, and these nachos were incredible, to say the least. I didn't want to stop eating these, lol, and that's how you know the food is that good! Every bite of my food felt very authentic which was great. My meal also came with a small thing of chips and salsa, a regular one and a green chili one (which was my favorite).
Taqueria Los Gueros pulls out all the stops on their menu from the tacos, tortas, burritos, dishes, appetizers, and more. Make sure you also follow them on Instagram and keep up with their daily specials for only $5.99 like Torta Monday, Taco Tuesday, Quesadilla Wednesday, and Burrito Thursday. Fun fact, they've also been featured on Univision as well if you wanna give it a look.
You can order your food in-person or online to-go. In addition, catering is also done here, with one of the options being a taco bar...how cool is that! If you're looking for authentic Mexican food in the North Jersey area, you have to hit up Taqueria Los Gueros. I know I'll be going back again!
