Anyone from New Jersey and even New York knows the Jersey Shore is the place to be during the summer from those hot, sunny beach days to playing games at the boardwalk to all the delicious food you eat down there. When it comes to the food, the Jersey Shore has many different types of food that are staples of what makes the shore the iconic place it is such as pizza, ice creams, pretzels, fries, burgers and cheesesteaks. This next place I'm bringing you all to will want you going back for more. My next review is Steaks Unlimited, which is an old-school cheesesteak place in Seaside Heights, New Jersey.
A few weeks ago, I was down in Seaside (well technically Ortley Beach) for a friend's birthday and after everything ended, I decided to spend the day down in Seaside as it was my first time there ever (as shocking as that sounds being a Jersey native) and wanted to get the whole experience for myself. Some of my friends have been to Seaside before and recently went to Steaks Unlimited and told me I had to go and wouldn't be disappointed. So I took their word on it and went to see what all the hype was for myself. Fun fact, across the street from Steaks Unlimited is another cheesesteak joint called The Original Steaks. Now, the owners of both places are actually brothers and rival against each other on who has/does better business or not and both joints also look alike too!
For my food, I ordered the 'Cheese Steak with Potatoes' which comes with steak, peppers, onions, white American cheese and potatoes. My friend me told when I went, I had to get the cheesesteak that comes with potatoes and I'm so glad I listened to him because I didn't know potatoes and cheesesteak was a combo I needed in my life. Everything about this all was delicious, the meat was cooked to perfection, the peppers and onions tasted sweet and were grilled excellently and the potatoes were an extra thing that hit the spot! I also got Steaks Unlimited's 'Famous "CHEESE BALLS"' which were amazing and were fried, cheesy heaven. All the cheesesteaks served here come with peppers, onions and white American. Besides cheesesteaks, customers can buy burgers, hot (parm) and cold subs, Taylor Ham Egg and Cheeses, wraps, chicken and seafood baskets and a bunch of sides from fries, wings, mozzarella sticks, onion rings, jalapeno poppers and whole lot of other stuff too.
When you go to Steaks Unlimited, they have some indoor and outdoor tables set up, so you can eat in-person or you can get your meal to go, which is what I what I did. If you end getting to-go, I highly suggest going to the boardwalk and eat there as the atmosphere and everything all just goes together with the experience. If you're looking for a good cheesesteak place down the shore or for a great, quick place to eat in Seaside, Steaks Unlimited is the perfect place for you! You have to give it a try for yourself, I know I'll be back the next time I'm down in Seaside Heights.
