Naxos Estiatorio (Greek - Woodland Park, New Jersey)

A few weeks ago, my family and I went to dinner at Naxos Estiatorio, and this was simply outstanding on all levels!!! It did not disappoint, and was honestly one of the best meals I have eaten! Walking in, the ambiance of this restaurant transports you to a feeling that makes you feel as though you are actually in Greece. All around this place is just incredible!

Good way to start any meal

To start my meal, I had a cocktail. I forgot the name of what I ordered, but it was peach-flavored, though, and had a nice sugar rim. This was very refreshing and strong, and a good drink which complemented my meal well.

These 'Zucchini Fritters' >>>

For appetizers, my family and I ordered the 'Zucchini Fritters,' which were very delicious, crispy, and cheesy. They were a good light bite to start the dinner with.

Absolutely delectable & mouthwatering

We also got to try the 'Saganaki,' which was truly unbelievable! It was seared kefalograviera cheese with kataifi and a honey drizzle. Basically, it is fried cheese with honey, and it is an amazing combo. It melts right in your mouth and has the perfect blend of sweet and savory.

Truly the BEST dish at Naxos

For my meal, I got the 'Braised Lamb Shank,' which had a Xinomavro (wine) reduction and chive and feta-infused mashed potatoes. The waiter said this was the best dish on the menu, and honestly, I have to agree. My mouth is salivating just writing, but the lamb was so good!! It was super tender and fell right off the bone. That is when you know you have a great cut of meat. The sauce was delectable, and the mashed potatoes were insanely good! I highly recommend ordering this dish if you come to Naxos.

These rolls were delicious and hits the spot

To end the night off, of course, we had to get dessert. My family and I had the 'Galaktoboureko Rolls,' a custard-filled phyllo pastry, which was to die for!

Can't go to a Greek restaurant without ordering 'Baklava'

We obviously had to get the 'Baklava' as well, and that was a hit! The waiter also brought out these honey dough balls to try, which were a great additional sweet treat. They were not too light and not too filling, which made them perfect.

At Naxos, you can order anything from appetizers, soups, salads, fish, lamb, chicken, steak, seafood, lobster, desserts, cocktails, and so much more. Pickup, delivery, and catering are all offered here. On the website, customers can inquire about private events, place reservations, apply for a job, and purchase and use gift cards. If there is a restaurant in New Jersey to try, this IS THE spot!!!!
