When I was in the city recently, I came across Los Tacos at their Times Square location on 43rd Street and decided to give this eatery a try. There was a long line of people waiting outside to get in and order, and you know that means the place is really good! Walking inside there was a ton of hustle-and-bustle from customers and staff, but you can feel the environment and vibes here are very warm and friendly.
Now Los Tacos is one of those places where the food has a smaller portion size, and you order a few things. You get to choose if you want corn or flour tortillas, as well as onions, cilantro, guacamole, salsa, and/or cheese. For food, I ordered all their tacos listed on the menu, the Carne Asada (Grilled Steak), the Pollo Asado (Grilled Chicken), and the Adobada (Marinated Pork), except for the Nopal taco, which is grilled cactus. I got flour tortillas for all my tacos with onions and cilantro.
The tacos were absolutely delicious and tasted really authentic, which are the best kinds of tacos! The meat was seasoned and cooked perfectly, and the tortilla, onions, and cilantro complimented the tacos really well too. Plus, get some limes to squeeze on the tacos because it slaps. The Adobada (Marinated Pork) was my favorite out of all three becuase I loved how it adds extra flavoring from the marinade. On top of that, I also got some chips and guacamole, and they were spectacular. You can't go wrong with some chips and guac as they are always a go-to. The chips were light, crispy, and golden, and the guacamole was creamy, fresh, and zesty.
Besides their Times Square location, Los Tacos also has other spots throughout the city in Chelsea Market, Noho, Grand Central, and Tribeca. What stands out about this place is that after ordering, you give your order ticket to one of the cooks and they prep your food right in front of you. Overall, Los Tacos is a fantastic joint with amazing food, I can't wait to come back again in the future!
