Lemongrass is a Thai restaurant in Downtown Brooklyn that recently invited me to try out their tasty menu. I brought one of my friends who lives in the area, and we were both impressed with everything Lemongrass had to offer from their food, drinks, services, and atmosphere, everything was terrific! This place feels very inviting and vibrant the minute you walk inside between the good energy and aesthetics everywhere.
To start the night, my friend and I ordered drinks, I got the 'Gomain,' and my friend ordered the 'Virgin Pina Colada.' The 'Gomain' has rum, triple sec, fresh mint, and sour with a strawberry splash of seltzer. This was very refreshing, as it had a ton of fantastic strawberry flavor and combined well with all the alcohol.
The 'Pina Colada' is self-explanatory, but you have to ask to make it a mocktail, if you do not want alcohol, but it looked amazing. Just look at how incredible and stuffed to the max this was?! Plus, this place has mocktails too, and almost all of the cocktails can be made into mocktails, so you can still enjoy your drink without the booze if you would like.
For appetizers, I got the 'Crispy Golden Wonton,' which is minced chicken stuffed in a crispy golden wonton that came with a sweet chili sauce. The combination of the chicken, wonton, and sweet chili was out of this world! This was delicious, and I could eaten more of these if I could, lol.
My friend had the 'Chicken Satay,' which are chicken skewers served in a peanut sauce and cucumber salad. I did try a bit of the satay, and the chicken was super flavorful. I found it to have a nice sweet and savory combination to it, which was great.
When it came to the main course, I ordered the 'Siam Chicken,' which is chicken marinated with lemongrass, grilled, and served over a bed of braised onion, sweet basil, and mushroom in a black bean sauce. This dish was chicken and vegetable galore, as this was stacked with both! The black bean sauce was super tasty and brought out a lot of flavor in this entree.
The other entree that my friend got was their 'Ocean's Four,' which had shrimp, squid, scallops, and mussels with coconut milk, basil leaves, string beans, pineapple, and pepper in a panang curry sauce. I did not try this, but this was HUGE! The plate was stacked with seafood, and the curry sauce also looked great too. If you love seafood and spice, this is the perfect dish for you.
To end the meal, we had to get dessert of course, and had the 'Blueberry Cheesecake,' which also came with vanilla ice cream and whipped cream. This was hands down the best thing we ate the entire night, and it was amazing!! This cheesecake was homemade and had a creme brulee coating on the outside, which was outstanding and unbelievable! We both agreed that we wanted another piece after finishing the first one, lol.
Besides both our meals, you can order anything from appetizers, salad, soup, bao, entrees, curry, noodles, veggies, duck, sauteed dishes, fish, rice, drinks, dessert, and much more. On top of that, Lemongrass also has some great lunch specials Monday through Friday from noon to 3:30 p.m. that everyone will love with some restaurant recommendations. On Lemongrass' website, you can order online and also place reservations too. Downtown Brooklyn has a lot to offer, and Lemongrass is an excellent restaurant choice if you are looking for some Thai food!
