As you all know, I recently tried Thai food for the first time from 2sis in Towaco and wanted to try some more near me, so my family and I went to the House of Thai in Kinnelon. Everything here was fantastic from the food, service, and atmosphere.
I ate so much and had a bunch of different types of food. For appetizers, my family and I got the 'House of Thai Sampler,' which has a sample of some of their best appetizers. It came with chicken satay, spring rolls, dumplings, crab rangoons, and Thai wings that came with a variety of dipping sauces. Everything was amazing and taste-wise is pretty self-explanatory. Out of everything, the crab rangoons were my favorite thing of the entire sampler. It was my first time trying them, and they were incredible with the cheesy, creamy crab filling with the crunchy shell that came with a sweet, tangy sauce. I wish I had more of them!
For my main meal, I had the 'Thai Lo Mein' with beef, and this dish was to die for. It came with noodles, carrots, bell peppers, corn, snow peas, onions, napa (cabbage), bean sprouts, and scallions that came in some type of light brown sauce. Getting a pasta dish from a Thai place seems to be my go-to, but I am not mad about it though. It had a great balance of the pasta, beef, vegetables, and sauces. I enjoyed every bite of this!
Of course, we had to end the night with dessert, well I had to end the night with dessert, and I ordered an 'Almond cake,' I forgot the exact name of what this was called, but it was really delicious. It was creamy, sweet, crunchy, light, and chocolatey from the drizzle sauce. The cake itself was very fluffy and not heavy or rich at all, which was a nice way to end the evening especially because it is not a dessert will not make you feel bloated or too full.
House of Thai is a BYOB, so if you want to have some drinks with your meal, you will have to bring some before going. Besides having a sit-down meal here, takeout is available here including delivery. However for delivery, it is only available for residents in Bloomingdale, Butler, Kinnelon, Pompton Lakes, Pompton Plains, Riverdale, and parts of Boonton Township and West Milford. If you love Thai food or are looking to try some, House of Thai is definitely a place you do not want to miss out on!
