When it comes to finding good places to eat down the shore, the options are just endless and it can be more extravagant as it is a different ambiance and new experience. Now one type of restaurant that is common for any beach destination is seafood. Seafood items are something that is found often at restaurants near a body of water since all the produce is basically right there. My last review was all about lobster and my next one provides a range of all seafood from crab to halibut to scallops to shrimp to clams, there's just so much here at this next place, Blue Water Cafe which is another Long Beach Island place.
When I was on vacation down in LBI a couple weeks ago, my family and I ordered takeout from there for two of the nights which is how I got acquainted with this eatery in the first place. The first time, I ordered the 'Lobster BLT' which is a lobster roll salad with lettuce, tomato and bacon piled on toasted seven grain bread. Now you already know I love my lobster and I love BLT's, so I was already obsessed with this combo of both. Everything tasted delicious and the sandwich itself was very filling and a nice twist to a classic BLT. Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures from this night, but from my description, I think you can imagine what it looked like. For the second night, I got the 'Blue Crab Burger,' which is an Angus burger topped with their famous 'Blue Crab Dip.' The 'Blue Crab Dip' is it's own item that you can order off the menu. It has crab, cream cheese, artichoke hearts and spinach. Now besides lobster, I also love crab, those are my two favorite seafood items I enjoy eating. This dip was phenomenal and I thought it was a cool and unique thing to add to the burger because it was very complimentary. I love having condiment on my burgers/sandwiches so this dip really hit the spot! For both nights, I also got my meals with the 'Old Bay Fries' which is French fries with Old Bay seasoning and I'm so glad I got them because they were for sure a great kick to fries.
Now when you go to Blue Water, they serve breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, so you can go for any meal of the day. They serve a bunch of variety from omelets, French toast, salads, sandwiches, burgers, seafood, pasta, steak and a whole lot more. This place doesn't accept any reservations, so it's first come first serve. They are also a BYOB so make sure you get that alcohol and those bottles if you want to kick back and relax with a good drink. Dining in-person and takeout are available to all customers so the decision is really up to you with where you want to eat your Blue Water Cafe food. The food is definitely really great here as well as the service. If you're looking for a good restaurant to go to down in Long Beach Island, Blue Water Cafe is the perfect place for you!
