Over this past weekend, I was out on Long Island for Halloween, and to visit friends, and I was in the mood to try out a new food spot. I came across Ruby Soho's in Lindenhurst, and the food here was just spectacular. In my opinion, you truly cannot go wrong with tacos and Mexican food, everything about it is so good.
When I went, I obviously got some tacos. I ordered the 'Sofrito Grilled Chicken,' 'Simmered Beef,' and 'Spicy Pork' tacos. The 'Sofrito Grilled Chicken' had chicken (both marinated and chargrilled), cheese, chopped bacon, and tomato. This was so delicious, and I love how tender the chicken was, and how much bacon there was, as it made this taco. 'The Simmered Beef' had ground beef, cotija cheese, onion, and cilantro. I found this taco to be simple, in terms of ingredients, but the flavors and taste completely blew me away. It was so delicious and juicy, and my tastebuds exploding from every bite. It was definitely the perfect example that sometimes simple can be great. The 'Spicy Pork' had chili-rubbed pork with pineapple-pickled pico and salsa rojo. This taco was sweet, savory, tangy, and succulent. I felt the pineapple-pickled pico was a nice touch and complemented really well with the pork and taco itself.
On top of that, I also ordered the 'Crunchwrap,' which was honestly my favorite I got out of everything. The 'Crunchwrap' came with beef, cheesy, cabbage, tomato, and a crunchy tostado. I was obsessed with this, as the flavors from everything were so beyond good. My mouth is watering just thinking about this 'Crunchwrap,' because it was so tempting as it was crunchy, cheesy, beefy, and all around SO GOOD! I could have this everyday for the rest of my life, and be perfectly content.
Besides my order, Ruby Soho's has salads, burritos, quesadillas, rice and beans, plantains, chips and guac (of course), and more. This place is also vegan friendly, as they have vegan options for meat. Ruby Soho's is a primarily a bar with great vibes, and a lot of alcoholic drinks for those who love to go out, grab a few drinks, and have a good time. Takeout and delivery is offered here. Overall, if you are in the mood for tacos and drinks, Ruby Soho's in Lindenhurst is the perfect place!
