Antik Greek Kitchen (Greek - Fairfield, New Jersey)

As we all know by now, I love to try out any new restaurant I hear of or can find, and my latest new restaurant find is Antik Greek Kitchen in Fairfield, New Jersey. Antik is truly an authentic Greek restaurant that is the real deal from the food and drinks, and even from the minute you walk inside it feels like you are stepping right into being in Greece. I came here recently with my parents, and everything was great.

To start the night, I got a cocktail, of course, and ordered the 'Tears of Chios Martini,' which had skinos (Greek liqueur), grey goose vodka, lime juice, and agave puree with fresh mint and grapes. The drink itself was strong, which I liked lol, and had some sweetness between the lime juice, agave, and mint. Overall, I felt that this drink had a pretty good balance of mixing all the ingredients, as I was able to taste a little of everything.

Every good meal also always appetizers, and my parents and I started with the 'Spanakopitakia' and 'Antik Chips.' The 'Spanakopita' as we all know is spinach pie, which is a Greek classic, and one of my favorite things to get when eating out at a Greek restaurant. I love everything about them, from the spinach and feta filling with the phyllo dough on the outside. I could eat these all day every day and they are chef's kiss.  The 'Antik Chips' are breaded zucchini and eggplant chips with tzatziki sauce, and these were super tasty between the breaded counting and the tzatziki.

For my main meal, I had the 'Kotopoulo Ala Antik,' which was grilled chicken in a tomato sauce with cherry tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, and feta cheese. This was simple yet delicious and flavorful between the grilled seasonings on the chicken, the tomatoes, and the tanginess of the feta. Everything meshed well perfectly together from every bite. I also got a side of 'Rice Pilaf', and I was hoping and expecting the rice to be more seasoned however, it was great to use as a sauce from the chicken. I wanted to try something new and different, and something I would not typically get, and I am really glad I tried this dish as it was worth it!

Of course, if I pull out all the stops when going out to eat, you know I have to end the night with dessert, and that's exactly what I did! I wanted to continue my streak by trying something new and different and got the 'Galaktobouriko,' which was Greek custard and honey layered in phyllo, and it was SO GOOD! It was super creamy, delicious, filling, and very sweet, and it was a great way to end my meal at Antik.

At Antik, they have all the traditional Greek menu items you would expect and know. Pickup, delivery, and catering are both offered here. Plus, they have their own beyond menu, which is solely for independent restaurants, and customers could receive better prices when ordering from there. Antik also hosts events in person with their own party room, and more information can be found on their website. Reservations can be made on the website or by calling. If you are looking for a restaurant with the real-deal off-the-boat type of Greek food, experience, and style, then Antik Greek Kitchen is the perfect place for you!
