Going out to a Mexican restaurant is always the move as the food is incredible, the drinks are off-the-charts, the music is blasting, and everyone is always just happy and in a good mood! Well, that all describes El Mexicano Tapas & Tequila in Clifton perfectly. I came here recently with one of my friends, and coming to this place was a great experience for both of us.
To start everything off, I wish I remembered the name of this drink, lol, but I started with this beer that is sort of like a beer margarita. It comes with a beer of your choice, lemon juice, and a rim. I got a spicy pepperflake-like rim, and my friend did the same thing with a salt rim. It was very light and refreshing.
For food, my friend and I got the 'Empanadas,' and 'Guacamole with Plantain Chips,' as the appetizers, and both were delicious. The 'Empanadas' had a tasty outer shell with the delicious meat filling, and came with a chipotle dipping sauce that went perfectly with them. The 'Guacamole' was incredible, as it was super fresh and homemade. It was probably the best I have ever had, and I could not get enough of each bite!
For my meal, I got the 'Birria Tacos,' and these were outstanding! In my opinion, you cannot go wrong with 'Birria Tacos,' and these were so good. The meat was beyond juicy and tender, and the taco shells were perfect. The only thing was I wished they had a little more cheese on them, but besides that, they were great!
At El Mexicano Tapas & Tequila, there are so many drinks and food to choose from that are all great. Plus, this place also provides hookah for those who love it, which looks like it can be an enjoyable experience. Pickup and delivery are both offered on DoorDash. You can also place a reservation in advance. Food, drinks, music, and good times are all key to a fantastic restaurant, and El Mexicano Tapas & Tequila is the place that has got that all!
